Transcription: Storyboards and Indication Sheet

Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of drawings on the blog since the start of the project, but my priority was to resolve the story-telling first, then it comes the design choices.
Here are the storyboards and the indication sheets, for the 1st draft animatic. The animatic is starting to get shape and will be uploaded later. Where I will combine the storyboard stills, a rough voiceover, music and SFX.

For now the drawings:

This whole process of drawing them, scan them in, clean them up and colour them as taken more time than I expected, though it is worth it.

Hey Rubes - I've been thinking about the challenges of this story in visual terms - the biggest being a visual means of conveying the music in a pictorial way to somehow intensify the experience for the audience - and I was reminded strongly of Michel Gagne's Sensology animation:

but you should also check out what he designed for Ratatouille's 'taste' sequences:

I just wonder if you might need to identify an additional synesthesiac element to properly exploit the visual experience of the auditory experience of your character; for instance, when I hear music, I 'see' stuff; you could experiment with intercutting near-subliminal shots to show this experience? I'm not in anyway suggesting that your story doesn't work or isn't going to be effective, I'm just wondering if you might explore this expressive element more?

Indeed, I had the same idea, for that matter I will have to draw as I listen the music. Something I will do very soon for now I will put the animatic together without those shots, find where to add them, and later add them.

I have also remembered , Normans Mclaren animations and some sequences in Fantasia. I will create a post with that part of the research. Meanwhile, im editing the music and the storyboards for the animatic. but also i will start with concept design asap.
