John "Rusty" Hero Robot Pirate Turnaround

With the rendering of the turnaround taking some time I was able to get the documents ready to add on my website, documents such as Texture Maps making presentable, different views of the character etc.

So without further ado, here I present you the first Robot Pirate fully done.

John "Rusty"  The Hero Robot Pirate Turnaround

Character Different Views

Character Geometry

Character Texture Maps

note that I will do  quick animation to add to my showreel when I have the rest of the characters and some more time.

The next stage will be to continue modelling the second Character , "Metal Jaw" Gertie the Hunchman Pirate. I will update this page again regularly.

Stay Tuned!

So proud of you! I have a question how do you keep yourself motivated? :D

just like you, I love what I do, and despite sometimes not being really confident, I try my best to be. Another thing that motivates me is seeing this character done, and look at journey it took me to make it.

the passion for what you like to do is motivation and having people that support you is an extra help. And im here for that :) x

Congrats, Ruben - but I do have a teeny weeny gripe; it just feels to me that there isn't enough distinction between your character's face and the majority of his clothes. You've got those nice accent colours of his scarf etc, but somehow, he feels a bit drab to me. I know how closely he follows the original designs, but I'd pretty much guarantee that you'd be asked to rethink the colour values of his costume if this was going further. That is not to unpick or devalue all that you have accomplished with this model (lots of innate charm, as your drawings had), but he looks half-finished to me in terms of his costume design.

Hi phil,

I have read your comment, and thank you for the feedback. I am just not understanding, what you mean about the colours ? Is that related to the colour of the shirt being similar to the body? for the head scarf and waist I have tried other colours and they don't seem to be working as good as red. I have also mentioned on a previous post that I will change the colour of the villain.
