Unit 05- Character Expression and Posture Influences

My character will be part of one of the famous gags,where he wants to be picked but nobody does, just like a schoolboy in a school's football match.


Shrek

For this purpose, I have been looking and some scenes that starred characters doing this and one of funniest and more memorable one is in Shrek by Dreamworks Animation. Where Shrek wants to know whos is Lord Farquaad and he starts a pick me game, on the other side is Donkey thying to grab attention by jumping, shouting.

Snow White and Seven Dwarves

Other character, I would like to portray when he is getting ready to get picked is Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, not because is utterly silly, but rather because his body language. All of these emphasis in a action that doesn't really need.




Ill bear his movements in mind when animating my character.


Fantasia- lo schiaccianoci

Also the Mushrooms in Fantasia are other good example, because they dont have any human form, but we perceive them as walking.
