La Jetee, 1962, Chris Marker

This film is directed by Chris Marker, and unlikely all the films nowadays is made of still photographs telling the story.

Synopsis:

Time travel, still images, a past, present and future and the aftermath of World War III. The tale of a man, a slave, sent back and forth, in and out of time, to find a solution to the world's fate. To replenish its decreasing stocks of food, medicine and energies, and in doing so, resulting in a perpetual memory of a lone female, life, death and past events that are recreated on an airports jetée.

I would say a very interesting experience, because it is different add to a really interesting storyline told in a storyboard way, which will glue to the screen not only to try to understand the complex story but also because it is really interesting concepts used. the photographs shot really help to create the mood of the scenes, although no movement is implied. the sound really helps not only to understand the story but also sometimes to confuse the all scene.
