Unit 3- Research for Asylums, Gothika vs. K-Pax

I remenbered this 2002, film Gothika dealing with this type of buildings, also the way was depicted shown a really creepy place, really dark and uninvinting at all.




On the other hand, Is K-Pax, a film that I love, although it shows a life in a mental hospital, it is has a bit of a magical touch in it, where that dark, cold and uninvinting place no longer exist, instead is a place of community and joy.


So for my project the ambiguity starts when the spectator, that will be put in a subject view, will come to this abandoned Asylum, which is already uncanny for a start, and will try to figure out what are the stories lying behind those doors.
